The purpose of this course is to introduce the LCT students about the collection of documents called “The New Testament” with a focus to study each of the distinct book, the purpose of its writing, themes, the message about Jesus Christ, and challenges it sets for His followers; beginning from a brief introduction about Hellenism. The course will help the students to recognize the different social contexts in the light of historic events and how they impact the themes that base the events occurred in the pages of Holy Bible. The course strives to help students develop the skills to relate the truths of Bible and translate them according to their culture/need. A special emphasis of this course is to urge the students to turn to the New Testament and read it cover to cover. Evaluation will be carried out during the classes by means of assignments, quizzes to recapitulate and revise, and the exam will be held at the end of the course.
